IFSC World Cup 2013 Innsbruck, Austria(May 17-18)

The 5th round of the 2013 IFSC Boulder World Cup was held last weekend in Innsbruck, Austria.

The winners this round were Jan Hojer and Julianne Wurm of Germany, both their first Boulder World Cup victories.

Jan Hojer is also known for his strength and dynamic power which has allowed him to repeat extremely hard boulders outside very quickly. Here is a recently popularized video of his beastly training:

IFSC Scoring

Competitors are scored by the number of boulders they top-out, in the lower number of attempts.

Each boulder problem has a bonus hold in the middle, usually after the first “crux”. If there is a tie, competitors are ranked by the # of bonus holds reached and the number of attempts taken to reach them.
