Loose Rock at Backdoor route #47 “Vita”

UPDATE: Due to the generous hard work of Taiwanese Climber “Two-Teeth”(吳彥儀), the offending loose rock has been removed and this route is now safe to climb.

The below post is kept for historical reasons.

A loose rock on a major hold on the sport route Vita(5.11d) at Long Dong’s Backdoor has been discovered by climber Mavis Yen(小曼). The loose rock is past the crux and close to the anchors. Climbers would be well advised to note and skip this hold.

Backdoor is a relatively newly developed area of Long Dong and loose rock is not uncommon. Climbers should educate themselves on conditions of routes they climb and pay attention. Helmets are strongly advised for climbers and belayers.
